In chemical research, a large number of chemicals is being used. The German legislation (Gefahrstoffverordnung) requires a minimum standard for the inventarisation of chemicals, but handwritten lists oder spreadsheet tables are often outdated and searching for chemicals is time-consuming. The also increases waste amounts and costs for unnecessary purchases.

It is also possible to label chemicals with barcodes, which can be borrowed and returned be the employees similar to a library. The current storage and the responsible person can always be checked.
